What's great for the past 10 years our group of seniors have perform our Christmas program in our center. Because of our diverse senior group we sing and play a range of christmas songs, Christmas Island, Jingle Bell Rock (we old folks rock on that song),Mele Kalikimaka, Ang Pasko ay Sumapit, the beautiful arrangement "Silent Night(Neath the silent star), and of course the standard songs. Our program 30 minutes while they are having lunch our audience get a little skittish after 30 min, we don't want to cut into their Bingo time..You know seniors and their Bingo. This song "Snoopy's Christmas" a strange song we will sing this year.

Saturdays, up early to watch cartoons afterwards gather the fellows in the neighborhood and get on our bikes and explore our town. Mom and dad wouldn't see me until dawn, no worry it was safe for 9 year olds in my city of 10000 in a small town in Ark. Afternoon swim in the river and little fishing, and maybe if we have the funds buy sodas and candy ($1.00 could get us a lot of cavities). And then we have the $0.15 moves on Saturdays some of the best western movies ever, I thought (lol). At the end of the day I take my once a week bath, get ready for the Sat. evening TV shows, Hit parade, Gunsmoke yes all the great shows. But I was a child and mom and dad protected me from the racism in our small town, as a child my childhood was great. I guess I yearn for the carefree days of my youth, 1955-1959.. In 1959 moved to California and no more carefree Saturdays....

Done I agree, WTF...Jehovah use this woman to clean out the org..Forget the poor woman who is label a Jezebel, in and out of the org. All this woman wanted, to get married and stay in Jehovah's org.. but God has another mission for her. A great guy.....

Did You Know “Weird JWs” When You Were In The Organization?
by minimus init could be argued that all jws are weird.
.
i’m referring to really weird odd witnesses.. most of the oddballs that i remember were elders..

This sister was weird before she became a JW and once she got purified (baptized), twilight time. When JW's talk about how weird another JW is, that is weirdness to the highest degree.

Sister DF for secret sex she was 35 years old, the guy a 18 year old JW. They got married and divorced one year later. She moved to another city and a new congregation and within a few months she was reinstated. One year later she was DF, secret sex with one of the Elders (who was married)..Jehovah was using this sister to clean out the organization, yes God moves in mysterious ways.

We elders were weird, we were the mouth for Jehovah and I must admit we spoke some weird stuff. Think about it, the GB are in left field and they were our guide ,stupid leading the stupid or the weird-Os leading the weird.

I can drive from west coast to the east coast if someone is in the car with me, but I can not drive a mile on the freeway alone. In 1971 I drove from California to Brownsville Texas through Mexico to Belize pulling a trailer, today my knuckle turn white when I drive two blocks to the store alone.

Do you (or did you) have much of a social life as a Jehovahs Witness.
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question out of interest, because as a jehovahs witness for some 26 years, i have always felt that there is an 'all work, no play' culture within the organisation.
the organisation doesn't promote social gatherings.
i could count on one hand each year how many get togethers we have had.

Social life in the 60's and 70's was great, beach parities, camping out, sports, gathering and lots of booze, square dancing, Jazz concerts, fishing, graduation party for the young ones (high school), once a week brothers would gather in our local gym for basketball (we had some great games). Yes those were the days, friends would stick around after the meetings and have meaningful conversation and then the sh--t hit the fan..1975....
